Base64 Encode / Decode
Encode and decode Base64 for text and files online, privately in your browser. URL-safe support, size limits and safety checks for malicious files.
Text
Files
Files are never uploaded. Limits: 5 MB for files and 1 MB for text. Decoded content is never opened or rendered; it can only be downloaded as a binary file.
File to Base64
Base64 to file
How it works
Text is converted as UTF-8. Files are read locally in your browser, size-checked before loading, and decoded content is offered only as a download with a safe name; it is never executed or displayed.
FAQ
Is my file uploaded?
No. All processing happens in your browser.
Why is decoded data saved as .bin?
To avoid accidentally running malicious files. Only a few inert image types keep their extension.
What is URL-safe Base64?
A variant that uses - and _ instead of + and /, often without = padding; decoding accepts both.
